Accessibility Statement
GeekyAce wants everyone to be able to use geekyace.com, whatever device they use and however they browse. This statement explains what we've done, where we know there are gaps, and how to tell us if something gets in your way.
Our goal
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA, the standard most widely used for websites. We test as we build, but the site has not had a formal third-party audit, so we can't yet claim full conformance.
What's built in
- Every button, link, menu and form can be used with a keyboard alone, with a visible outline showing where you are.
- If your device is set to reduce motion, the site turns off its animations and smooth scrolling automatically.
- Images have text descriptions, and decorative graphics are hidden from screen readers.
- Text and buttons are designed with strong contrast against the dark background.
- Pages work at any screen size, on phones, tablets and computers, and when zoomed in.
- Videos never play sound on their own. Sound only starts when you turn it on, and only one video plays sound at a time.
The accessibility tool
The round button in the bottom-left corner of every page opens our accessibility options. You can make text larger, switch to high contrast, highlight links, use a more readable font, add extra line spacing, stop all animations and use a bigger cursor. Your choices are remembered on your device as you move around the site.
The tool is there to help, but it doesn't replace the assistive technology you may already use, such as a screen reader or your device's own settings. The site is built to work with those directly.
Known limitations
- Some videos in our portfolio don't have captions yet. If you need a description or transcript of any video, ask us and we'll provide one.
- Our website portfolio shows live client websites inside a preview window. Those sites are separate from ours, so their accessibility is outside our control.
- Our live chat window is provided by Crisp, and links to Fiverr, WhatsApp and other third-party services take you to sites with their own accessibility standards. If the chat is hard to use, email us instead.
